A simple Syrian farmer from Hasakah who suffers from a neurological illness, visited Damascus for medical treatment.
He wanted to capture his joy over the liberation and victory with a photo in front of the Damascene Sword monument, wearing his traditional qamis
The photo spread on TikTok, and a bullying campaign began, mocking his simplicity and his traditional clothing.
In response, a widespread solidarity campaign began among Syrians.
The Syrian government also responded through the Ministry of Information by putting up a large billboard featuring his photo with the words:
