There is something useful in both approaches. But there is another weapon sitting almost untouched in our arsenal:
Culture.
Political power is not the only form of power. Before men follow a program, they are captured by an image of life.
Build something vigorous enough, beautiful enough, exciting enough, and people will begin moving toward it without being ordered to. The ambitious will notice it. Artists will imitate it. Young men will want to belong to it. Eventually even people inside established institutions will find themselves influenced by a culture they were supposed to ignore.
The mainstream offers increasingly little worth aspiring to: passive consumption, sterile entertainment, isolation, comfort without purpose.
Our answer should not simply be another collection of arguments.
We should create a world.
Music. Art. Clothing. Film. Literature. Sport. Adventure. Physical culture. Brotherhood. Places to gather. Things worth building. A recognizable aesthetic and a recognizable way of carrying oneself.
Make the alternative more alive than what it opposes.
