AITA for asking my wife to do a few chores after the baby was born
My wife made me feel like a peice of shit so I need opinions.
We recently welcomed our second baby to our family. It was a long delivery but she was born healthy and happy.
\*\*Our other child is 3 and he goes to daycare everday. ( bolded becuase people can’t read)\*\*I do drop off a pickup with him. It has been around 2 months since our baby girl was born and we are both tired.
We use formula so we switch out on nights for feedings and my wife is ok maternity leave for a few more months. The issue is that the house is a disaster.
Once I come home from working 9 hours I then have to take over everything. I do dinner, I do the dishes, I clean the rooms, I do the trash especially in the babies room because my wife lets the diapers pile up.
I have asked her multiple times to do some chores to help out when the baby js asleep. I wasn’t asking her to go crazy but to wipe down the table or throw food in the oven for dinner.
She hasn’t. I asked if everything is fine and she claims it is, just a bit sore after the birth. I asked her to go to the doctors and that caused a fight becuase she claims everything is fine.
She has always hated the doctors.
My breaking point was today. I came home and tripped over shoes in the hallway. She went out with the baby and just kicked her shoes off when she got home. I tripped and fell on my face.
The house was still a mess and we got into an argument. She says I am pushing too hard for her to clean when she isn’t 100 percent yet and I told her I am not asking her to be super cleaner just do something. Any chore. It shouldn’t be that hard to clean the kitchen while the baby sleeps.
It went on for a while and she left. I called my sister to help me since my wife left me with two kids alone and filthy house. I don’t want to ask my sister, she has a negative opinion of my wife
edit : everyone asking if the bay sleep. The baby sleeps pretty well. Usually asleep of 14-17 hours a day. The naps are usually an hour or two. It is rare for her to get up after she is put down
She is a lot better at night then our son was
