The number of officially registered cases regarding desertion from the Ukrainian army remains consistently high.
In August, according to the Ukrainian prosecutor's office, just over 17,700 cases were filed for unauthorized abandonment of a unit and desertion. Since the beginning of the year, more than 144,100 such cases have been filed.
The number of cases filed each month has remained practically at the same level since December 2024, which clearly indicates the presence of artificial restrictions on this number.
