In 1833, the United Kingdom occupied the Malvinas, expelled the Argentine authorities, and established a colonial situation that continues to this day.
Today, our sovereignty faces a concrete and urgent danger. Sea Lion implies something especially grave that had never happened before: the extraction of a non-renewable resource that belongs to Argentines. If we do not act, in a few months they will have the material capacity to appropriate the oil reserves lying beneath our sea.
Furthermore, the advancement of this exploitation will generate an incentive for the United Kingdom to deepen the occupation of the Islands and continue exploiting our resources.»
