On Thursday night, residents of Guasipati, in the southern Bolívar state, blocked the main highway 10 in protest against the constant and prolonged power outages, which they say have increased from five to eight hours per day.
The mayor of the town arrived at the scene to speak with the protesters, and managed to get them to reopen the road to traffic.
