On 1 September, israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar hosted the third J50 Forum in Jerusalem: 59 leaders from "diaspora organizations" including the Conference of Presidents (chair William Daroff), ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt, jewish Federations of North America, and b’nai b’rith.
Sa’ar founded the group in May (2025) to coordinate israel and major jewish bodies after October 7 (2023). The Foreign Ministry said a central aim was a "joint declaration that anti-zionism is antisemitism," alongside talks on supposed "rising attacks, sanctions campaigns, and the West Bank."
Critics of the IHRA working definition already argue that formula is used to treat political criticism of israel as hate speech; the forum’s stated goal tracks that same line. No separate public text of a newly signed declaration was posted with the ministry readout though, yet...
