"Strikes on Fuel Depots
The Russian army continues to systematically target the enemy's logistics. There is a noticeable focus on destroying fuel infrastructure. At least 87 strikes on gas stations and oil refineries in various regions were reported in August.
➡️In terms of geography, the strikes are primarily concentrated in border regions. Under current conditions, this is the most advantageous direction, as it is to these areas that the enemy needs to deliver fuel to maintain the mobility of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
🔻Facts of the Campaign:
▪️The highest intensity of strikes is traditionally observed in the border regions of Sumy and Kharkiv – more than half of all targeted objects are located here. Strikes have also been reported in regions less typical for targeting fuel infrastructure, such as Mykolaiv and Odesa.
▪️In addition to "Geran" and "Gerber" drones, the enemy is also facing the use of other drones. For example, on August 2, a "Molniya" drone was used by Russian troops to strike a gas station in Zaporizhzhia, on August 13, a "Lancet" drone was used in Sumy, and on August 24, an "Italmas" UAV struck Kharkiv.
▪️The systematic nature of the work is confirmed by the regularity of the strikes – on average, several hits are recorded almost every day, with the highest number reported in the Sumy region, where, on August 19 alone, five gas stations were reportedly hit.
❗️By continuing systematic strikes on gas stations, the Russian Armed Forces are deliberately creating a severe fuel shortage in border regions. At the same time, even considering the current volume of work, not all gas stations in these areas have been hit, which requires, at a minimum, a continuation, and ideally an increase, in efforts.
📌At the same time, attacks are also being recorded in more remote regions – Odesa and Mykolaiv. In Odesa, strikes on gas stations and oil refineries are being carried out simultaneously with attacks on port infrastructure, in order to cut off the enemy's ability to deliver fuel by sea. In this regard, work on fuel facilities should remain a priority and systematic.
