Ukrainian Delegation Departs Miami as Talks Collapse Over Diesel Agreement
The Ukrainian delegation left Miami on Tuesday after the second day of discussions with U.S. officials broke down, according to reports from AFP. The talks reportedly faltered following an alleged agreement between President Vladimir Putin of Russia and former President Donald Trump concerning diesel supplies, The Financial Times reported.
In addition, the United States issued Kyiv a "firm demand" from the president to cease strikes on Russian refineries. The discussions—attended by individuals including Whitkoff and Jared Kushner—also touched on the possibility of restricting intelligence sharing with Ukraine, as a senior Ukrainian official cited by DW indicated.
