Gold moves in sessions. And not all sessions are equal.
The Asian session is quiet. Low volume. Gold typically consolidates or makes small moves. Trading here is risky because moves are often fakeouts with no follow through.
The London session is where the real price discovery begins. Institutions come online. Volume picks up. Levels start to be respected more cleanly.
The New York session brings the biggest moves. US data, Fed commentary and the highest volume of the day often combine to create the clearest and fastest setups of the session.
