— Israeli army concludes large-scale exercise in Eilat simulating simultaneous attack from multiple directions
The drill, involving Division 80, the air force and the navy, simulated dozens of Houthi fighters and hundreds of Iran-backed militia fighters infiltrating the Eilat area by sea, land and air.
Troops practiced dozens of simultaneous scenarios, including abductions, rocket fire, mass-casualty events, and raids on military bases, civilian facilities, hotels, schools and beaches.
Division 80 commander Brig. Gen. Yisrael Friedler said the exercise is part of the annual training plan and that the military is applying lessons from the October 7 attack to its southern border defense.
