— Lebanon uncovers network smuggling Syrian fighters for training in Bekaa Valley
Five Lebanese and Syrian nationals were arrested, and the network was found to be in possession of machine guns, sniper rifles, grenades, and explosives. Among those arrested is a former intelligence officer from Syria.
The network was operated by a former general in the Syrian army who currently resides in Moscow, and its goal was to train operatives for attacks against the Syrian government forces, with a focus on the coastal region of Syria.
