YZi Labs Unveils EASY Residency Season 4 Cohort
24 companies just finished the program - 10 weeks, half online and half living together in Bhutan, with up to $500K per team from YZi Labs' $1B Builder Fund. It's the first global cohort to build inside Gelephu Mindfulness City, Bhutan's new sovereign tech region.
The lineup has an obvious center of gravity: non-USD payment rails. Aile is building an FX layer for regional stablecoins, ViFi Labs makes markets in Naira, Real and Peso, Kravata does stablecoin accounts across Latin America, Surgepay lets Indians abroad settle bills home in rupees over WhatsApp. Nearly half the cohort is moving money in currencies that aren't the dollar - the part of stablecoin infrastructure that's barely been built.
The rest splits between institutional market structure (Alloco, Primus, Liquorice, Nexroute) and AI as an economic actor (xAPI, Roostoo, Zerodrift). Worth noting what's missing: YZi pitches this as Web3, AI and biotech, but exactly one company here is biotech.
