Special Operations Group (GOES) of the Colombian National Police deployed in the dangerous region of Cauca.
Cauca, Colombia, a region that historically faces complex public order and security challenges due to cartel activities, but recently with U.S. SF being the lead training units for the Colombian SF with intelligence-sharing cooperation has lead the unit to several successful missions.
Tactical capabilities and coordination have been heavily reinforced by extensive intelligence sharing and elite training pipelines with U.S. Special Forces advisors. This collaboration has been formalized under expanded networks in southwestern Colombia.
This operation in particular was conducted by the Colombian National Police and Military forces in the Cauca department. During this deployment, security forces successfully intercepted and deactivated multiple vehicles, including large trucks and cars, that had been packed with heavy explosives by FARC dissident groups (specifically the Jaime Martínez structure).
