Monitoring resources report that during September, a transport MC-130J Commando II aircraft from the U.S. Air Force's Special Operations Command (AFSOC) made at least three flights to Bogotá, the capital of Colombia.
All three flights were round trips, with no delays in Colombia, and the departure location of the MC-130J is not disclosed. Furthermore, it is reported that the Pentagon has deployed several MQ-9 Reaper reconnaissance and strike drones from Africa as part of its efforts to combat cartels in South America. These drones are stationed in Ecuador and Colombia.
Currently, members of the 7th Special Forces Group ("Green Berets") are operating in Colombia, actively involved in joint operations with local forces to combat cartels. In Ecuador, there are also "Green Berets" and Marine Raiders from the Marine Corps.
