"Struna" (String) is the combat call sign of Vladislav Nikolaevich Golovin, a platoon commander who fought with the 810th Separate Guards Naval Infantry Brigade (Russian Marines). The 810th Guards Naval Infantry Brigade is an elite marine unit of the Russian Navy's Black Sea Fleet, primarily based out of Sevastopol, Crimea. They served as a main assault force during the capture of Mariupol during the Siege of Mariupol in 2022.
In June 2022, shortly after the fighting in Mariupol concluded, Golovin stepped on a landmine. The explosion resulted in the amputation of his lower leg.
As reported by Meduza, Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) has accused Golovin of war crimes, specifically involving the forced "re-education" and militarized training of Ukrainian children inside Russian-occupied territories.
