Anchorage police officers responded to Walmart for reports of theft. Upon arrival, three APD officers contacted the subject, 33-year-old Deandrea Robertson inside a loss prevention room. Officers would discover Robertson had a warrant, as one officer moved to handcuff Robertson, he attempted to flee and a struggle followed. During the struggle, Robertson fired a concealed handgun at officers, striking one twice in the lower body. Another round fired by Robertson hit another officer in the upper body, but that was stopped by a ballistic trauma plate. A third officer suffered hearing damage from the shot and was temporarily blinded by the muzzle flash. Officer K. Pole returned fire killing Robertson
