🍄 Nasdaq vs. Mushrooms
Chinese company Farmmi with a market capitalization of less than $5 million suddenly became a market star after a token called JINQIAN was launched based on the name of a mushroom from its report. It was paired with a homemade token FAMI, which merely pretended to be a tokenized share —Robinhood did not issue it, and it is not backed by real shares.
But the hype was enough — the real FAMI surged from $0.12 to $0.50, trading volume increased by approximately 150 times, and JINQIAN's market capitalization at its peak reached about $60,000,000 — almost 10 times the value of the mushroom company itself.
Wall Street has invented many things, but pumping stocks through a token about a "money mushroom" is a new level.
