We’d like to share our upcoming plans for TON testnet operations.
Recent updates have shown that some third-party validators are upgrading their nodes too slowly, which slows down our ability to iterate quickly on new releases. In addition, while every update is thoroughly tested in our devnet under a range of network conditions (including latency and packet loss), testing against real user activity consistently provides new insights. To keep improving testnet reliability, we need node logs, ideally from all nodes in the network. For a limited period, this requires tighter operational control of the network.
For this reason, we have temporarily increased the minimum stake requirement to at least 2M testnet coins. We also ask third-party validators, including those meeting this requirement, not to participate in validation for the time being.
Current plan:
1. This week, our focus is to stabilize synchronization across all nodes in the network, including both liteservers and validators, even under a high masterchain block rate. If you operate any of these nodes, please follow the instructions in this channel and apply upgrades when requested. We expect 2 upgrades this week.
2. Separately, around mid-February, we plan to reduce the minimum stake requirement and invite validators to rejoin validation.
