— The OLA rebel group conducted an attack on September 4 against the Tulu Kapi gold mine project in Genji Woreda, West Wollega Zone, Oromia Region of Ethiopia. More than 200 Ethiopian federal police personnel were killed while guarding the site alongside mine workers and employees, according to local Ethiopian news media.
KEFI Gold, the mine owner, immediately put the mine activity on hold following the attack.
