— The Tatmadaw launched a major campaign codenamed operation 4926 against the Arakan Army (AA) anti-junta rebel group in the Rakhine region of Myanmar. Burmese soldiers in the besieged city of Sittwe bombed the positions of the AA in the Ponnagyun township and used drones, causing massive casualties on the rebels.
Ongoing reports claim junta forces are also conducting a land offensive against the AA.
