— A mass exodus of Burundian citizens living in Kenya is underway following the latest declaration by Kenyan president William Ruto against foreigners living in the country and owning businesses, threatening a crackdown against them. Following Ruto's declaration, mobs of Kenyan citizens mobilized in the capital, Nairobi, and started attacking Burundian citizens and other foreigners.
Burundian and Congolese citizens also rushed toward their country's embassy in order to be able to leave quickly, while others were seen departing toward Uganda by train.
