— Iran has lifted its ban on government agencies using “non-native,” or Western, social media platforms for official communications following approval from the Supreme Leader.Abbas Pazuki, an official in First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref’s office, said the previous policy had left government institutions absent from platforms widely used by Iranians, effectively “clearing the field for rumors and psychological operations.”
He said the restriction was unanimously removed by the relevant headquarters.
