— Israel released five Lebanese detainees earlier today who had been arrested in recent months in IDF-occupied southern Lebanon, the Prime Minister’s Office said. The release is intended to help advance efforts to recover the remains of leaders of Lebanon’s Jewish community.
As part of negotiations with Lebanon, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed officials to “advance efforts to locate and return” the bodies of Jewish community leaders who were “abducted and murdered by terrorist organizations” in the mid-1980s.
