— Major Ahmed Samakaay, the deputy commander of the 11th Battalion of the Birmad special police force, and Dahir Maalin Hassan, the commander of the guard of Aden Madobe, the federal-aligned president of the Southwest region of Somalia, were reportedly killed during the battle of Baidoa. At least 12 other persons were killed during the battle, including civilians.
