— Egypt is considering the purchase of 24 additional Rafale fighter jets from France’s Dassault Aviation, according to La Tribune.Cairo has recently submitted a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the 24 aircraft.
Egypt is expected to have 54 Rafales in service by the end of 2026 from its previous orders in 2015 and 2021.
If the new deal goes ahead, Egypt’s Rafale fleet would increase to 78 aircraft, further cementing the country as the fighter’s largest export customer.
