A Foreign Ministry spokesperson cited U.S. criticism of North Korea’s human rights record, continued calls for its complete denuclearization, and planned military exercises with South Korea and Japan as evidence of Washington’s confrontational approach.

It added that expecting regional tensions to ease under Washington’s current approach was “pointless” and said its own policy toward the U.S. also remains unchanged.
