🟠 Etiquettes of Supplication (Du'a) 🟠
Part 2
📕In Jami' At-Tirmidhi and Sahih Al-Hakim, from the hadith of Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas, the Prophet ﷺ said:
“The supplication of Dhun-Nun (Prophet Yunus), when he called in the belly of the whale: {There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.} No Muslim ever supplicated with it for anything except that Allah answered him.”
📕 In the two Sahihs (Bukhari and Muslim), from the hadith of Ibn Abbas:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say in times of distress:
(“There is no deity except Allah, the Magnificent, the Forbearing. There is no deity except Allah, Lord of the Great Throne. There is no deity except Allah, Lord of the heavens and the earth, and Lord of the Noble Throne.”)
📕 In the Musnad of Imam Ahmad, also from the hadith of Abdullah bin Mas’ud, he said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
(“No one is ever afflicted by anxiety or grief, and says: ‘O Allah, I am Your servant, the son of Your servant, the son of Your maidservant, my forelock is in Your hand, Your command over me is forever executed and Your decree over me is just. I ask You by every name belonging to You which You have named Yourself with, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or preserved in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur’an the spring of my heart, and the light of my chest, and a departure for my sorrow and a release for my anxiety,’ except that Allah will remove his sorrow and replace it with joy.”)
It was said: “O Messenger of Allah, should we not learn it?” He said: “Yes, it is appropriate for anyone who hears it to learn it.”
