Meet the Jew who popularized amphetamines in the United States.
Max Jacobson was a Yiddish-American doctor who became well-known throughout the Kennedy era for his intensely addictive "vitamin shots" - containing potent amphetamine and its methyl counterpart. Among his clientele included many notable names such as Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Elvis Presley, Judy Garland, and even former president John F. Kennedy.
His wild career came to a crashing end when he was exposed by the New York Times in 1972 for lacing his “miracle shots” with flesh from aborted fetuses, opioids, steroids, estrogen, and of course amphetamines. Promptly afterward, he was charged with medical misconduct and fraud, eventually losing his license to practice medicine two years later. Jacobson later died in 1979, most likely of an overdose from his amphetamine-cocktails.
