One thing crypto has taught me is to never underestimate the Shiba meta in a bull market. DOGE and SHIB are obviously the giants, but every strong cycle tends to produce a new wave of dog coins that catch fire underneath them. We saw it with names like AKITA, KISHU, HOKK and countless others during the 2021 dog season. When attention comes back to memes, Shibas have historically been one of the easiest narratives for retail to understand and rally around.
Ponsan isn’t some random AI-generated dog created yesterday like ZCAT. Ponsan (ポンさん) was the real female Japanese Shiba Inu behind the viral “No horny” meme. It’s an established piece of internet culture with years of recognition behind it.
Then you have the ticker/name itself. PON-san. PONSAN. On Pons. It almost feels too obvious.
You’re basically combining three narratives that already work independently: Shibas, an established internet meme, and the Pons ecosystem.
Some of the strongest Pons ecosystem supporters are already here, with OGLE among the top holders (top holder of PONS). In small ecosystem memes, I care a lot about who notices something early and whether those people have the ability to keep attention on it as the ecosystem grows.
The bigger thesis for me is simple: if Pons continues gaining mindshare, I think there will eventually be a breakout dog coin attached to that growth. Instead of trying to guess which completely new dog gets manufactured when that happens, I’d rather own the one that already has the name, the meme, the cultural history and the ecosystem alignment.
$PONSAN feels like one of those ideas that makes more sense the longer you look at it.
