Retiring That Sky Mod
Hey everyone,
After a few years working on That Sky Mod, I've decided it's time for me to step away. This will no longer be updated or maintained, and it will not be made open source.
Honestly, a big part of this decision comes down to what the modding community has turned into lately. The space has gotten increasingly toxic - fuelled by jealousy, drama, and people throwing around accusations for fun. What gets me most is that a lot of the people talking badly about me and the project are people I've never even spoken to - I have no idea who they are, and they have no idea what they are talking about. On top of that, I've been dealing with repeated false DMCA takedown complaints filed by someone impersonating TGC via "[email protected]" - filing over 30 different complaints against services used by the app, and creating numerous Discord accounts to access the server. This is very clearly someone with way too much time on their hands. Dealing with that kind of thing, on top of everything else, has made this feel less and less like something worth continuing.
I know that's not the outcome some of you were hoping for, but it's the right call for me. Thank you to everyone who used, supported, tested, and defended TSM over the years - it meant a lot, and you're the reason this lasted as long as it did.
The server isn't going anywhere. It'll be repurposed going forward, and you're all welcome to stick around, chat, and hang out.
