😔 CS:GO agents were just better? Talking about the old map faction system here. Every map in CS:GO had its own matched sides. The map told you who's fighting who without you ever owning a single agent. 🔥 Agents launched back in 2019 alongside Shattered Web, and for four years both systems ran side by side, no agent equipped, the map just used its default faction. What actually killed it wasn't agents, it was CS2 itself in 2023, they cut the map-faction link entirely, and now with no agent equipped you get the exact same two defaults everywhere, balaclava guy and gas mask guy, whether you're on Dust 2 or Ancient 😭 Basically the free map atmosphere got swapped out for a paid skin showcase. There's a flip side that keeps agents from being top-tier cosmetics though, you barely see your own agent in-game besides the arms, pro scene disables them entirely for consistency, and a few models even have questionable map-specific camo that gives a slight edge 🙂 Kind of a bummer honestly.
