Landed a fresh knife+glove combo, got hyped, showed it off, two days later that same combo's already down over $100. The sad little arc of trader TitanHoloCS across two posts 48 hours apart
On August 18 he picked up Sport Gloves | Vice in Minimal Wear, specifically going with MW over the cheaper FT since he figured it'd be easier to sell if he got bored of it. Literally two days later same guy posts about how much he loves buying CS2 skins because they instantly drop over $100
To be fair the pick wasn't even a bad one, these gloves have been one of the few things holding relatively steady while everything else has been bleeding out.
Comments section came in max sympathetic, someone had the same story with Desert Hydra, someone else remembered selling this exact Vice MW years back for $2,000 (that money barely covers the FN version now). Whole thread lands on the same conclusion, even proven liquid, hyped-up gloves keep sliding in 2026, and given everything Valve's been putting people through lately, it's basically just become the weather at this point
And it feels like Valve needs to start asking themselves a pretty simple question before it's too late: why would anyone want to hold capital with zero baseline stability that doesn't even move with actual market conditions, just whatever's going on inside a product manager's head
😭 — feel for him, been burned on gloves myself
🗿 — everyone already knows to stay away from these right now
