Summer colors of Russia.
This summer, my family and me were traveling around the Mountain Altai Republic. We stayed on the shore of the Teletsky lake, it is also called the Heart of Altai. As a student of the Natural Science Class, I was interested in the flora of this place.
The first time walking along the waterfall, I saw an amazing layer, popularly called witch hair. Usneya- Lichens is very sensitive to air pollution, their presence indicates favourable conditions environment. We can meet them very rarely in other places. It is an interesting fact that lichens aren’t just simple plants, they include two kingdoms: plants and mushrooms. We met them at every step near waterfalls or on coniferous trees.
Also in Altai there is Lobaria pulmonary: leaf epiphytic lichen. It got its name because of its similarity to the lung tissue. It is listed in the Red Book because unlike Usnei it can survive only in clean air, and humidity affects only the color of the layer.
