The Feast of the Apostle Thomas is a day of remembrance of the power of faith, which is born of doubt, but is strengthened in a personal encounter with God. The Church calls St. Thomas the "theologian of action," because he did not believe out of fear, but out of an inner search for truth.
On this day, a passage from the Gospel of John about his conversion is read during services.
Believers pray to the Apostle Thomas for enlightenment of the mind, strengthening of faith, and relief from doubts and spiritual indecision.
It is believed that he helps those who seek meaning, endure trials of faith, or face difficult choices.
My Lord and my God!” exclaimed St. Thomas the Apostle (John 20:28).
Do you feel the strength with which he grasped the Lord and how tightly he held on to Him? No one holds on to a plank with greater strength than a drowning man who hopes to be saved from drowning.
Let us add that those who do not have the Lord in this way for themselves and in relation to the Lord do not yet have a proper faith in the Lord.
When he finds Him and feels the power of salvation that comes from Him, he will hold on to Him tightly and will not want to let go, even if they take his life away.
Such events in the spiritual life of a Christian are not imagined only by the mind, but are experienced in reality.
