Announcing DBStudio Lite v0.1.0: A Lightweight Desktop Client for PostgreSQL
I built DBStudio Lite, an open-source desktop application designed to provide a fast, minimal interface for inspecting and querying PostgreSQL databases locally. Built with Go and Next.js (Wails v2) using strict Test-Driven Development.
Key Features
- Connection Profiles: Connect via URLs or discrete parameters with local profile persistence (0600 file permissions).
- Schema & PK Inspection: Discover tables grouped by schema.
Platform Support & Downloads
Pre-compiled standalone binaries are available on GitHub Releases and the landing page:
- Linux: Universal x86_64 binary built against glibc 2.35 (Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, Arch, Mint).
- macOS: Universal binary supporting Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) and Intel.
- Windows: 64-bit standalone executable.
