Former PLA Western Theater Command chief Gen. Zhao Zongqi has reportedly been removed from China’s top political advisory body amid corruption allegations and has been sentenced to prison.

Zhao previously led the Western Theater Command during the 2017 Doklam standoff and the 2020 Galwan Valley clash involving India.
