The topic of Flock cameras is an interesting one.
I can speak from experience that these are used to accurately identify suspects in criminal cases. You should see the look on their face when the fellas at the Bureau catch a perp in a lie, showing them video evidence of their every movement that night. "No expectation of privacy in public."
On the other hand, current privacy laws are outdated and, frankly, bullshit. Everyone's daily commute is logged, stored, and sold for commercial interests. And call me authoritarian, but there's something slimy about a private business charging municipalities to install cameras in public areas and then charging law enforcement for access.
Anyway, those who take these cameras down are costing the taxpayer $3000 to replace them. Strong public opinion, paired with extrajudicial actions, might just send the message that Flock is not welcome here.
That is, until your city switches to Axon.
