🔹 Swachhata Pakhwada Awards 2026
• First Prize : Field Operations Division
• Second Prize : National Statistical Systems Training Academy
• Third Prize : Indian Statistical Institute
• The awards recognised outstanding participation in cleanliness, waste management and environmental sustainability activities organised by MoSPI.
🔹 2nd India New Zealand Defence Strategic Dialogue
• Held in Wellington, New Zealand.
• Co-chaired by Amitabh Prasad, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defence, and Richard Schmidt, Deputy Secretary, New Zealand Ministry of Defence.
• Focus areas included maritime security, joint military training and implementation of the India New Zealand Strategic Partnership Roadmap 2030.
🔹 World Water Week 2026
• India participated in World Water Week 2026 in Stockholm, Sweden.
• The Ministry of Rural Development showcased India’s community-led water security, technology-enabled governance and sustainable natural resource management initiatives.
🔹 10th Sujal Gram Samvad
• Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation organised the 10th edition of Sujal Gram Samvad.
• It promotes direct interaction with Gram Panchayats and communities on operation and maintenance of rural drinking water systems under Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0.
🔹 Indian Navy to Commission INS Nipun
• Nipun, the second indigenous Nistar-class Diving Support Vessel, will be commissioned on 31 August 2026 at Naval Dockyard, Mumbai.
🔹 DRDO Missile Technology Transfer
• Defence Minister Rajnath Singh approved transfer of DRDO-developed technologies of all conventional missile systems to Indian defence industry.
• The move aims to increase indigenous production, reduce import dependence and strengthen participation of domestic companies and MSMEs.
🔹 ICGS Ajit Handed Over to Indian Coast Guard
• Goa Shipyard Limited delivered the indigenous Fast Patrol Vessel ICGS Ajit to the Indian Coast Guard.
• It has more than 65% indigenous content, a top speed exceeding 27 knots and an endurance of 1,500 nautical miles.
• It will undertake EEZ surveillance, coastal patrol, anti-smuggling, anti-piracy and search and rescue missions.
🔹 Indigenous Gas Turbine Engines Unveiled
• CSIR National Aerospace Laboratories unveiled three indigenous Micro and Small Gas Turbine Engines.
• NJ-05: 5 kg thrust
• NJ-50: 50 kg thrust
• NJ-100: 100 kg thrust
• The engines are aimed at strengthening indigenous aerospace propulsion and unmanned defence capabilities.
🔹 53rd PRAGATI Meeting
• Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 53rd PRAGATI Meeting.
• Six infrastructure projects in Railways, Roads and Power sectors across 9 States, involving investment of over ₹30,000 crore, were reviewed.
• PRAGATI stands for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation.
• The Prime Minister also reviewed AgriStack and measures against cyber fraud and “digital arrest”.
