🔹 UNCCD COP17
• Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav participated in a side event at the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification, UNCCD COP17, in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
• India has committed to restoring 26 million hectares of degraded and deforested land by 2030 under the Bonn Challenge.
• India restored 21.76 million hectares during 2011 to 2020, generating around 1.22 billion person days of employment.

🔹 3rd India Cambodia Joint Working Group on Trade and Investment
• The third meeting of the India Cambodia Joint Working Group on Trade and Investment, JWGTI, was held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
• The mechanism focuses on strengthening bilateral trade, investment and economic cooperation between India and Cambodia.

🔹 Envoys of Six Nations Present Credentials to President
• President Droupadi Murmu accepted credentials from newly appointed envoys of six countries at Rashtrapati Bhavan:
Sitona Abdalla Osman: South Sudan
Abdulla Saif Ali Slayem Al Nuaimi: United Arab Emirates
Muhammad Saidu Dahiru: Nigeria
Inga Ionesii: Moldova
Dr. Jasper Wieck: Germany
Petra Menander: Sweden.

🔹 India’s Land Restoration Progress
• India restored 21.76 million hectares of land between 2011 and 2020.
• The restoration generated approximately 1.22 billion person days of employment.
• India is now preparing its next restoration progress assessment for 2021 to 2025 in collaboration with the ICFRE Centre of Excellence on Sustainable Land Management and IUCN.

🔹 Gems of India
• Ministry of Information and Broadcasting launched the pilot of Gems of India, an initiative to identify and promote digital creators and unique stories from every district.
• It is being implemented through Prasar Bharati’s MyWAVES section on the WAVES OTT platform.
• Pilot regions include Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Goa and Ladakh.
• National level winning entries can receive prizes of up to ₹5 lakh.

🔹 Upgraded Dak MITRA and Dak Sewa Apps
• India Post launched upgraded Dak MITRA and Dak Sewa applications and inaugurated 14 renovated Post Offices.
Dak MITRA, expanded as Mobile Interface for Transactions & Rural Assistance, serves more than 1.4 lakh Branch Post Offices and supports paperless postal and financial transactions.
Dak Sewa provides 24x7 access to services including tracking, booking, complaints and Post Office/PIN code locators.
• Dak Sewa supports 23 Indian languages through BHASHINI.
