🔹 Indian Navy Receives ASW Ship ‘Mangrol’
• Mangrol, the third Anti Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft built by Cochin Shipyard Limited, was delivered to the Indian Navy.
• It has more than 80% indigenous content.
• It is designed for coastal anti submarine warfare, underwater surveillance, mine warfare and low intensity maritime operations.
• The ship is equipped with torpedoes, anti submarine rockets, advanced radars and sonars.
• It is named after Mangrol, a coastal town and port in Gujarat’s Junagadh district.
🔹 Exercise Pitch Black 2026 and Udara Shakti 2026
• The Indian Air Force concluded participation in Exercise Pitch Black 2026 in Australia and Exercise Udara Shakti 2026 in Malaysia.
• Pitch Black was hosted by the Royal Australian Air Force and involved air forces from more than 20 countries.
• India deployed Rafale fighter aircraft.
• Udara Shakti is an India Malaysia air exercise involving the Royal Malaysian Air Force.
🔹 Avathon Physical AI Lab at IIT Roorkee
• IIT Roorkee and Avathon announced plans to establish the Avathon Physical AI Lab.
• The lab will be based in IIT Roorkee’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
• Research will focus on Physical AI, autonomous industrial systems, machine learning, optimisation and multi agent systems.
🔹 Restriction on Cold Medicine Combination for Children
• The Government restricted manufacture, sale and distribution of Fixed Dose Combinations containing Chlorpheniramine Maleate + Phenylephrine Hydrochloride for use in children below 4 years.
• Such medicines must carry a clear warning stating that they should not be used in children below four years of age.
🔹 National Animal Disease Control Programme
• NADCP, launched in 2019, aims to control and eradicate Foot and Mouth Disease and Brucellosis through vaccination and surveillance.
• Around 147.16 crore FMD vaccine doses have been administered, benefiting about 8.04 crore farmers.
• Reported FMD outbreaks declined from 132 in 2019 to 40 in 2025.
