📍 Early Life & Influence
Born in 1895, Maharashtra, Bhave was deeply influenced by Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy of non-violence & Satyagraha.
Entrusted by Gandhi in 1925 with leading the Vaikom Temple entry movement for Harijans in Kerala.

📍 Role in Freedom Struggle
Became first Individual Satyagrahi (1940) chosen by Gandhi.
Participated in Quit India Movement (1942), imprisoned for 5 years.
Advocated Khadi, Nai Talim, sanitation, rural industries as part of Gandhi’s constructive programme.

📍 Philosophy & Institutions
Propounded Sarvodaya (welfare of all).
Established Brahma Vidya Mandir (1959) in Maharashtra, focusing on women empowerment & non-violence.
Writings like Ishavasyavritti reflected his spiritual-social outlook.

📍 Bhoodan & Gramdan Movement
Bhoodan Movement (1951) launched at Pochampally (Telangana) → urged landowners to donate land to the landless.
Expanded to Gramdan (1954) – entire villages donated land collectively.

Passed away in 1982 (Samadhi Maran).
