IOL Chemicals is the direct beneficiary of any Ibuprofen shortage in Europe - this has happened before.

Current status:
Europe is again seeing intermittent shortages. The Ireland HSE July 2026 shortage list shows Ibuprofen 200mg 100T (Accord) as "Awaiting return date", similar tightness was reported in UK/EU in 2023-24 due to supply chain issues. 0efa

Why IOL benefits:

- IOL is world's largest Ibuprofen API producer - 33% global market share, capacity ∼12,000 TPA (earlier 7,200 TPA)
- It has EU-GMP and CEP from EDQM for Ibuprofen, so it can directly export to Europe - unlike many Indian/Chinese players who need 2-3 years approval.
- History: In 2018 when BASF's Bishop, Texas plant shut due to technical fault, Ibuprofen prices spiked 15% domestic and 25% globally, IOL shares surged 25% in July alone, because Ibuprofen was 85-90% of its pharma sales.
