SEBI is reportedly considering scrapping weekly F&O expiries to curb retail losses and speculation.
But before taking such a step, perhaps greater emphasis should be placed on investor education and risk awareness. Options trading requires active participation, discipline and proper risk management.
Simply banning an activity may not eliminate the behaviour. A better approach could be education + regulation + responsible participation, rather than outright restriction.
