Germany has officially accused Russian military intelligence (GRU) of being involved in the drone and explosive attack at Leipzig/Halle airport on August 4th. - Clash Report
Near the Ukrainian cargo planes, a quadcopter with explosives (Semtex and PETN) and a detonator was found. The detonator did not activate.
DNA evidence and the drone's design features have been linked to previous GRU operations.
Response: The Russian ambassador was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Russian consulate in Bonn was ordered to close (September 18th), the "Russian House" in Berlin will be closed, and controls on the entry of Russian citizens will be tightened.
Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul stated:
Russia has "deliberately decided to further and significantly worsen our already extremely tense bilateral relations."
