More Than a Third of Americans Believe that UFOs Are Actually AliensAccording to a recent Gallup poll, 37% of Americans believe that at least some UFOs are actually alien spacecraft.
Women are more likely to believe in alien visits to Earth (41%) than men (34%). One in six respondents claims to have personally seen something resembling a UFO—nearly one and a half times more than in 1973, when such data was first collected.
However, 49% are convinced that all UFO sightings can be explained by human activity or natural phenomena. Still, since 2019, the share of such skeptics has decreased by 11 percentage points.
The Pentagon's recent release of long-classified UFO archives fueled the public's interest in the topic. But 78% of Americans remain convinced that the authorities know much more about UFOs than they tell the people.Do you believe in UFOs?
