2. Practice immediate obedience This is probably one of the most important parts. You don't become better at following Jesus by waiting for increasingly dramatic experiences. You become familiar with His voice by responding faithfully to what you already understand. If Scripture tells you to forgive, forgive. If you realize you've lied, confess it. If you're prompted to encourage someone, do it. If you're tempted toward something Jesus forbids, walk away. Small acts of obedience train your heart to say, “Yes, Lord.”
