Tim Cook has stepped down as CEO of Apple after 15 years.
He is succeeded by Apple veteran and former Vice President of Hardware Engineering John Patrick Ternus.
Under Cook's leadership, Apple became one of the most valuable companies in the world. Market capitalization grew to over $4 trillion from $350 billion in 2011, when Cook replaced Steve Jobs as CEO.
Cook will retain influence at Apple, becoming Executive Chairman of the Board.
