💡 There’s a hidden “ocean” inside Earth’s mantle 🌊🌍
About 660 km below our feet, deep inside the mantle transition zone, scientists have discovered a mineral called ringwoodite that can trap water in its crystal structure.
If all the water locked in this zone were released, it could fill Earth’s oceans three times over — meaning our planet’s greatest water reservoir isn’t on the surface, but buried far underground.
