September 1, 1980: In a Labor Day campaign speech at Liberty State Park in New Jersey, Reagan said his administration would “make America great again.” The speech was subsequently used in a campaign television commercial.
July 17, 1980: In his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention, Reagan called for “a great national crusade to make America great again.”
